My name is Matt Hinze and I have been birding in northern New South Wales for nearly thirty years. Now I live in the beautiful Tamworth region which opens up to the greater north-west of New South Wales. I have seen over 560 species of birds in Australia including rarities such as Franklin's Gull (QLD), Lesser Yellowlegs (NSW), Yellow Bittern (QLD) and Grey-headed Lapwing (NSW). There are many birds around this area which have become threatened over the past decade, but they all still inhabit this area at some time or another.
